Agribusiness Leaders Meet to Advance Global Food Security

SÃO PAULO, Brazil – Nearly 100 international agribusiness leaders gathered in São Paulo, Brazil on March 10th for the inaugural meeting of AgroLAC 2025, a multi-partner funding platform established by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) to support sustainable agricultural development in Latin America and the Caribbean to help the region fulfill its potential in becoming a major part of the solution to both regional and global food security.

Participants discussed ways for agribusinesses and other private sector organizations to collaborate through AgroLAC 2025 to finance cooperation, technical assistance, and studies to improve the productivity of small, medium, and large agricultural producers in the region while protecting the natural resource base and assuring no new net habitat loss. The platform will also seek to increase farmers’ access to national, regional, and international markets, access to financial services, and improve their resilience to climate-change.
